This book store is really great. They have reading books, as well as the book cellar, an ice cream counter, a bar AND live music! All this and a book signing to boot! The employees are very helpful and it is very down-home here. Definitely a great place to take a break and read!

Super cool atmosphere. Very comfortable and inviting. There's the Bookstore, a coffee shop, and a bar plus there's always some AMAZING music going on from musicians from all over.

Book store is precious, great book selection and lots of cute knick knacks... perfect local stop for getting lost and having a laugh! We stopped to enjoy a coffee after - coffee was just ok. A couple of teens working at the time, on their phones, not overly friendly, but overall cute place to stop in!

So we came to the book signing for David Sedaris tonight. What a crowd! Ticket prices were reasonable. Tickets? Yes! The tiny 12x14 poster that I saw a month ago never mentioned tickets...oh well. So we waited for a few minutes until everything began. David graciously treated us to personal memories and even read snippets from his diary for possible mention in upcoming books. Thank God he doesn't keep calendars. The time came for the actual book signing and this was where structure broke down and ground to a halt. It's like they didn't plan this out at all. There was no order, no preconceived notion of how it should flow, no fluidity at all. Worst of all, there is a coffee shop and bar in the same building that could have offered complimentary drinks to cushion the needless wait. Poor Fairhope...even David didn't want to be here. I find it interesting that a business that's been open 51yrs (since 1968) has so few reviews. And out of the previous few it had they were all 5-Stars? I'm guessing the staff or their friend were culpable...hey maybe the mayor has multiple accounts and left them herself?

This gem of a bookstore never disappoints! We stop here every time we’re in town. This is a place you can stop to pick up a great book, Latte, or to see live music or book signings. We love Page and Palette!
